Fires Burn Hundreds of Acres of Assyrian Farmland in North Iraq
North Iraq (AINA) -- Fires have burned hundreds of acres of Assyrian farmland, containing wheat and barley, in the village of Batnaya, in Nineveh, Iraq. Despite repeated calls to the authorities, only one tanker was sent to fight the fires and it did not arrive until hours after the fires had started. Most of the crops were destroyed.
The cause of the fires is unknown.
